Needlework meets Quilting

So, I thought I¹d share something on topic for a change.

I just got my Jinny Beyer NL and was browsing it last night at dinner. DH commented that the quilt on the cover was really, really nice, very cool,...hint. ³Good project for 2015² (he knows about WIPs and UFOs). As I look at it, I say - ³hey that¹s the quilt which is actually the Twister piece I¹m teaching (but doing in purple/pink & deep green). Then try to show him, just looking at 4 blocks, a small section of the quilt that you can see they¹re the same essentially. (for those who don¹t know and why should you Jinny Beyer is a very famous quilting diva, with many books, and a studio here in the DC area. She¹s a very interesting, gifted and nice person. Another example of how spoiled we are around here with so many talented artisans, and shops. And, lucky me, took some classes at her studio when I first started quitling (she¹s a big hand quilter, and I¹m not, but still.....)

Pretty cool. Anyhow, as the JB studio is having their sale this week, and as I do need a tiny, tiny, tiny bit of fabric to do finishing on some projects, I¹m going to stop by this afternoon with my WIP Twister. Should be an interesting reaction in the shop.

For the curious this is a link to Jinny¹s website and if you click on the link to get the latest Newsletter the quilt I¹m speaking of is on the cover in the left hand bottom. Going to be featured in McCalls Feb Quilting mag. I had actually been thinking about asking her for permission to turn one of her original designs into stitchable pattern and this may be my opening for chatting about it.

Ellice who has to go stitch or something like that
