Finished Farm quilt

I haven't been quilting all that long, so haven't finished a lot of projects, but just finished the most complicated quilt I have attempted so far. I am awed by many of the beautiful quilts posted on this group, but I am still proud to have this one finished, and have it turn out even better than I expected. I was not sure all the colors would work together as I gathered the fabric, and it is not colors I would ever imagine I would pick but I love the way it turned out. Very nice Heidi. You have every right to be proud!

Wish i could say I had finished something - anything! Oh well, I'm going to go cut a few square while my potatoes are boiling.

Heidi, that's fantastic! Quilting and its trials, tribulations and successes are a lifelong journey. The daughter of a friend of mine would absolutely adore that quilt as she does dressage riding. You've just given me a great idea...... Well done girl.

2 next projects: a table runner for my guild challenge "Four fats and a stripe" The stripe is driving me crazy, the stripe I have is directional as well as striped. Have to let my perfectionism go a little on that one. Also, just starting to plan a table topper for sister-in-law based on one with chicks in the latest Fons and Porter Love of Quilts. I have been resistant to applique but am going to spread my wings a little on that one. Finally found a hobby that suits my love of order and patterns.

Heidi, your quilt is gorgeous! You absolutely should be proud! If you hadn't told us that you were somewhat of a newbie quilter, I would never have known it. Looks like a professional job to me. :-)

Full disclosure- new quilter but years of clothing construction experience. I knew how to sew coming in, that really helped.

It's beautiful, Heidi. I would guess your friend likes horses! Well done for tackling something complex. Your friend is going to love this quilt. The use of 'feature fabrics' makes it even more special. A great quilt to see on a rather grey morning. . In message , Heidi writes
