Front Loading Washers F/U to Kay's post

> And if you've got another favorite frontloader (or a "don't buy a XXYY brand") I'd also be grateful to hear about it.

I have a Kenmore Elite HE3 and I love every single thing about it. There is nothing it lacks for my needs. And we save a bundle in water costs, it uses 1/3 of the water of a top loader.

And I have an LG set..... washer is the one without steam and is like

3.8 or 4 cubic feet and the dryer is 7 cubic feet. I LOVE it, have had them for about 4 months and my MIL has had an LG set for about 5 yrs and not one single problem. You use very little water, next to no soap and everthing comes out so fluffy and clean! Even the sears service guy (was here for another appliance) said they are VERY good units and they VERY rarely ever have anything go wrong with them.

I think the LG are Korean made. I may be wrong about that but I have gotten pretty picky about not sending any more dollars out of the country than I have to. I might be the only one that think that is important any more though. My Bosch set is US made. There has been a lot of buy outs of major appliance companies in the last few years. If old brand quality is important to you checking out who is actually making your particular appliance might be worth looking in to.

I forgot to mention that I have way less lint in the dryer with the front loading washer!

We've got the Fridigaire Gallery series front loader and dryer set, and have them 'stacked' in the laundry room. They are the greatest! We've had them for going on three years now and I can't believe how much $$ we have saved with them. Less water, less hot water, less detergent, less fabric softener...

I have a front loading LG washer and dryer and love them.

The only problem is when the washer spins, it vibrates alot because of the stand under it.

You guys over that side of the pond have washing machines that load from the top???

Every one on sale here in the UK (well, 99%) are front loaders. The only top loading one I have ever seen is when visiting friends in Germany.

I am seeing front loaders here now in TN, USA. Most are top loaders with dryers being the front loaders.
