Great pieces, Mary. I had a quick look at some of your other beauties while I was 'there'. I haven't seen some of them - nice surprises!

So glad you have time to do some creative 'stuff' to please you. . In message , maryd writes

Thank you, Pat. I don't always post when I make swap blocks and such. I do have quite a bit of time currently. Mom is doing better than we ever dreamed so about all I do is prepare 2 meals a day and be close if I'm needed which isn't often.

The hummingbirds are exquisite. We have a hummer feeder right by the sewing room window and I do love the little rascals. You're doing such a grand creation, Mary. Thank you for sharing, Polly

I put out feeders here but haven't attracted any hummingbirds yet. Glad you like my work.

Thank you, Donna. Carol Doak's instructional CD and DVD are very well done. I couldn't figure out paper piecing to save myself until I watched the CD that came with one of the books. Then it all clicked. (I've never taken a class in quilt making...all self taught) I don't know what I'll do with the black, white and red quilt but it yelled at me to be made.

Great stuff, Mary! I really like the way the black&white wired came out. What do you plan to do with them? Roberta in D

Thanks. No plans for the black and white. Probably find someplace to donate it. Hummingbirds will be made into a wall hanging for my SisIL when I get the last 2 completed. At the end of the teacup swap, I'll make a table runner that I may or may not keep.

Thanks. Yes, I am hooked on paper piecing. DH and I sat out back one evening and he helped pick off paper.

Oh Mary, I LOVE the paper pieced blocks!!!!!!!!!!!! Your color selection is just beautiful. If you ever get tired of them, I know a place they'd love to live! Hey, it doesn't hurt to beg. Gen

thank you. I keep the hummers on my design wall to remind me that they are worth the stress of making them.
