Happy Fathers day

to all our dad quilters around here. I don't think there are a lot of you but happy day to you if you are one. I was lucky enough to see my dad for a short visit. A good father is really a joy in life. Taria

Yes, Happy FD to all Dads. I've taken pause today and remembered the hours my DH spent on Little League fields, the times he would work a

12 hour shift, then come home on Friday night and take a troop of Cub Scouts camping. Driving clear across town late at night to find the only pair of purple crushed velvet Doc Marten boots for DD in all of Oklahoma City. Driving across the state at 11 p.m. to pick up a homesick child at camp. Having the courage to tell both of them "no" during the times it was truly the best thing for them, but knew the usual teenage response was "You never let me do anything. I hate you." The best father's day gift he ever got was when DD was about 21. DH had forbidden her to see a very unsuitable boyfriend. There was an awful row and they didn't speak for a month. She was 15 at the time. Then, one day at 21 she said, "You were right about him." Sometimes there's a diamond in all the pony poop. Sorry to ramble on and hijack your thread, Taria. I just needed to say that. The man isn't perfect, but if I had hand-picked a father for my children when I married, I could not have picked a better one. Thanks for the opportunity to say it.
