I plan on watching the Queen's visit on TV today, while I am quilting. One of the ladies who organize community quilts projects for my guild, dropped off 5 baby quilt panels for me to quilt, complete with backings and batting. Most of them have enough fabric to make the binding, but I don't mind adding some from my stash. They do a great job matching donated fabrics for backings, and the guild buys the batting.
I posted a picture of my Canada Day tiny quilt on my blog today. I made it while we were living in Panama City FL when DH was posted to Tyndall AFB. I had found the Canada flag fabric at the Toronto needlework festival - it was hard to find back then, and I think it still is. Canadians don't seem to be as openly patriotic as people in the US, although many feel proud of their beautiful country.
