My big day

Never, never will I take my 2 grandsons fabric shopping again. Today was my big day to pick up the fabric for my quilt, very excited. Daughter rings 7.00 this morning, boys are sick and can I have them today, (my only day off). So off we go to quilt shop, I pick the fabric I need when GS1 calls out Nanny look at this fabric it's just the best colour. Number 2 didn't want to be left out so he picked some fabric out. I went to the store to buy 5 lots of fabric, I come out with 10 and $300.00 dollars poorer. I love my boys to bits but I don't think I'll take them fabric shopping for a while.

This could be the start of their stashes - you only need to teach them to quilt now.

$300!! OMG. I feel a whole lot better now. Hope you got what you wanted in amongst all that:) lol. Hmmmm doesn't sound like they were very sick does it. I suppose the great thing about being a GM is that you can spoil then and at the end of the day they go back to Mum. Hope you enjoyed yourself with them anyway. Elly wishing she had some DGs to spoil.

I'm confused at why in the world you would take sick kids to the quilt shop? There are so many quilters I know that are older and have to fight to stay healthy. I can't imagine exposing them to sick kid germs. Taria

Same thought crossed my mind and I am one of those who has to be careful with my health.....too sick for school or day care but OK to go shopping with Granny and *share* those nasty germs with unsuspecting others.....hmmmmmm.

Howdy!

Why are you taking "sick" boys to the quilt shop?

I'm new and hesitate to ruffle any "feathers", but I am also one of those who has to be careful with my health. And because of my husband's medical situation, have to be very careful what illness I carry home. When people are sick and go out into public, they have the best of intentions or never think about it because "it's just a...(fill in the blank)" but what is a minor inconvenience of a cold or flu for someone could potentially be a deadly problem for someone else. The same situation holds true for going to work sick.

While we love you and the others who attend guild meetings or LQS, etc when sick, we'd rather not get sick from you, and we'd rather see you get the proper rest so that you can get well sooner. We have an agreement with our children...if the gkids are too sick for school or daycare, then they need their parent more than the employer does. So they don't expose us, who are less able to fight it, when the parent has already been exposed anyway.
