Howdy!

Happy Birthday, Decemberettes!

Btw, KathyA, late November baby, what did you do/get/eat for your birthday this year?!!? Huh? Just thought you'd slip that by us and we'd forget? Not very likely. If you were thinking of hogging all the Scharffen Berger forget it: share, girl! ;-D Hope it was a Happy one.

Yes!

I'm such a party animal, I finished painting the master bedroom on my birthday. It looks great. *grin*

DH gave me tickets to see Mark Russell perform live the day after my birthday. I'd seen him almost 15 years ago, and he's still just as funny. And quite a performer. If any of you get the chance, be sure to go.

A couple of days later, DH, my friend Sue (a fellow quilter and a Cleveland Indians fan who is toying with joining the swap) and I went to a fabulous dinner to celebrate our birthdays, something we do together every year. (Hers is 4 days before mine). She gave me chocolate (not Scharffen Berger, and it's all gone) and a beautiful orchid -- I gave her 5 yards of hand dyed fabric. We both think we got a much better present than we gave. *grin*

And by fabulous dinner, I do mean fabulous. We started with sweet potato fries, cut impossibly thin and seasoned just right. Sue and DH each had beer, while I had ginger beer (think ginger ale but much stronger). I had shrimp creole, DH had a fried pork dish, and Sue had a very wonderful Caribbean fish dish. Sadly, we were far too stuffed for dessert, but we all had lovely leftovers for lunch the next day.

Thanks for asking!

LOL...that was last night! Some said they would show and didn't, some never got back to me, but we had a total of 5 of us there. They wouldn't seat us until all were present, so after 45 minutes, we had enough (there were 4 of us at that time) and asked to be seated. I said that Michelle would show up as soon as we sat down, and sure enough, she did....but the party next to us graciously moved down one seat. The Japanese steakhouse was something totally new for me..no, I have never seen hibachi cooking done right in front of me, so I was just in awe. AND....Michelle got me to try sushi for the first time. It was different, and the first bit I tried, she doused in soy sauce with a bit of wasabi...the last bite was ALL wasabi and my eyes teared instantly.

Michelle and I were going to head to a club in Staunton (next town over) after dinner, but the other ladies couldn't go out with us. Then, as we were leaving (we were still chatting and laughing at 930!!!) Michelle checked her phone to find she had missed a call from her husband. Apparently their 3mo has decided he wants nothing to do with a bottle at any time. He took 1oz, slept for exactly 19 minutes, then woke up screaming.....and hadn;t stopped screaming. Michelle completely missed the call so she rushed back home. I ended up going with my friend Nancy back to her house and hanging out with her and her husband for a while, which was still quite fun.

We had a blast!! I have a picture of all of us so I will always remember my girls night out dinner. It was fun, and we were so much more relaxed with just the girls there.

Larisa, tired from early/long day today, but still jazzed
