I don't remember who the lovely lady was who told me about

tacking a quilt instead of tying one, but I wanted to really, really thank her. I just finished the binding on a quilt I tacked instead of tied and it turned out very nicely. Even my husband (who watches quilt shows even when I'm not home or in the room) thought it looked very good. It certainly was easier on my hands than tying, done in the same color as the fabric would have made it totally inobtrusive (but I chose black as an accent color), and it took much less time than tying.

I'm just finishing the last section of quilting on a "quilt-as-you-go" quilt, and had I not started tying it first, I'd have used the tacking method.

Again, thank you so much for this less difficult way of "tying" a medium to high loft quilt.

On behalf of the lovely ladies, Phyllis, we were delighted to help. =) My Berninas do sweet little stitches that would serve nicely for the drop and drag method of tacking - a tiny bow and another that's a little heart. They're on my list of 'to do'. Polly
