Fascinating. I've needed 'names' for the 4 rotations (?) of HSTs when I'm talking to myself about how they must go together. I wonder if I put flash cards of the ACGT all over the house if I could get those to stick in my brain. Polly

I use a Mac-based music processor for the ABC textual notation called BarFly. It was developed by a computational molecular biologist, Phil Taylor. He had the same kind of idea: turn DNA sequences into musical notes. I have a stretch of rat DNA which he helped sequence, and then turned into a tune. It's a very long and boring jig.

A nice touch is that ABC lets you put the name of the composer into the tune header. This one has
