You made me chuckle, dear one. I did exactly the same thing with my first QST! I love the way they look (when done properly), but for every block I have to still set the four pieces together the way they belong before I sew them if I want them to turn out right. It took me a very long time to get up the nerve to even try a triangle (still aren't my favorite shape).

Nay, Roberta, the only mini that calls to me is in the form of muffin pans; baked some banana nut bread wee little muffins just yesterday. Just in case the Queen drops by for tea. I love hats but no one wears them anymore, only for weddings. That was my excuse to go overboard!

PS: Elizabeth is in nearby Williamsburg. I had planned to don a fabulous hat and watch yesterday's carriage ride on Duke Of Gloucester Street. Unfortunately, I had an important Doctor's Appointment in another town at that time, so I had to miss the fun. I am DELIGHTED to report that the Doctor gave me VERY GOOD news, so I am not sad to miss the event. (I guess it is bad form when the PS is longer than the note!!)

Who cares about "bad form" when its GREAT NEWS as we all are not Eng teachers/former teachers/etc.(No, I'm not knocking them as we have a number of teaches in our 2 families) We just want to read what you write and so much the better when its super news. I'm pleased for you.

As for hats, a lot of us Out West wear them to keep the sun outta the eyes and keep the freckles down to a minimum ;) Some have very wide brims (my personal fav), cowboy, baseball, etc. as it depends on the need or the one closest to you as you head out the door. I have heard "Where's your hat?" out here more than anywhere else EXCEPT in the winter in Northern MI.

Butterfly (who received a compliment from an elderly gentleman the other day. "You have a nice clean short haircut". Made my day :) )

Just come back from a Craft Fair where there was a local furniture maker. He had made the chair that the Queen has presented to Jamestown.

He also made the chairs that Charles and Camilla sat on when they opened the new tower at St. Edmundsbury Cathedral last year. They are all wood, but so comfortable.
