I love the creativity of someone who is probably not working as a carpenter now, due to the economy, and is trying to generate some cash, and maybe start a new business. Good luck to them and I say Great Idea.

i bought one of those at a second hand shop here in NZ decades ago. still have it, use it and love it. iirc, i paid NZ$7 for it. i dont think they make them here anymore. have never seen them in shops brand new. i hope when i'm gone someone keeps and loves this as much as i do. mil was convinced she'd given this to me but i know better. i dont recall ever seeing one in her house when i first arrived in nz and we lived with them for the first year here so i'd surely see it. oh well. j.

I have a woodworking pattern for one. Just waiting for someone to offer to make it up for me!

Had some library steps/chair once, but they always wobbled. Not H&S at all. So we parted company. I do like things to be functional.

Love Victorian engineering... cogs and pulleys with curlycues and wrought ironwork.
