Goshamighty!! You poor dear!!! can't believe how stripped I feel with no sewing machine in the house!
Yikes! I wish you were here: you could borrow one of mine!
Ouch, I would be feeling just like you do. How naked!
How many days until Christmas????

Pull out the next project: get planning, washing/ironing the fabric, cutting, pinning......Go to Plan B.......whatever to keep you sane until you get at least ONE of them to work with.
Other than that..........HURRY UP CHRISTMAS Musicmaker needs her machine

I'm sending empathy your way. Mine's been broken for so long -- have asked two (possibly three) years in a row for it to be repaired -- at my birthday and Christmas. Alas, still not done (we've had a few things go wrong financially and I don't "really" need it)
My dad bought it for me and I'm not real good at it anyway. I've resisted the urge to buy another because I don't want all the complications. Besides, I want my Feather!!! It's simple enough for me
-- chemo brain/recovery period so I'm hoping my mind comes back)
Kidlet's got one of those fancier ones -- not too fancy (just loads of stitches and such but Ilook at it and am just not interested in learning a new system. Maybe one of these days mine will be fixed. JUST (as in the week prior to) before my birthday we ended up with plumbing difficulties. When a plumber is at your house 9 hours, repairing a sewing machine is not a priority. Soon though -- I hope! :)
My condolences are headed your way. I know I'd feel pretty naked in a similar situation. :S
It is rough (did that last winter when both my usual and my back up were mis behaving). But now you have extra time for planning your next project or two so that when that new present gets there you are ready to put it into action!!!
Why? You still have hands. Hand sew! Debra in VA See my quilts at
I repeat: HURRY UP CHRISTMAS
Course *I* have help coming so *I* don't have to worry on getting DD's 2 gifts finished:)
Butterfly (yes, you CAN throw all the FQ's you want at me: poiples, Christmas, 30's, and anything but paisley is acceptable)
Howdy!

R/Sandy --wouldn't notice the difference for several weeks if the sewing machine took a vacation
Howdy!
Ask on Freecycle. A couple of requests have shown up on F-c during the past few months (in this area) asking for "sewing machine, any kind", and have been answered. People just have things sitting around, thinking they'll use it someday... or shouldn't get rid of it... until someone pokes them into consciousness and they decide: I'll give this to some one who can actually use it! ;-)
Good luck.

But I like paisleys... they are so pretty. And no straight lines to match up either! ;)
J, who isn't very good at matching patterns.
