OT: A Different QI Story

I forgot to tell you all the funny story about what happened while we were gone to Pigeon Forge two weeks ago........ We left Thursday 03 December and arrived in Pigeon Forge about 2:00 PM. I got stuff settled and rested a bit and then we went off to THE most wonderful Christmas store imaginable! This store is one of the reasons I love Pigeon Forge. So we have been there close to an hour, looking at all the beautiful treasures and choosing only a few when all of a sudden my phone rings. Well, it doesn't ring, it plays CCR singing "Proud Mary". Anyway, I look at the screen to see who it is asnd it says HOME. This means that Derek, the young boy who takes care of the babies for us, is calling which means there must be a problem. I'm thinking maybe DH forgot to put out the canned food or something got broken. I answer the phone and poor Derek is panic stricken. He can hardly breath and it sounds like he's crying! He says that Cassie has gotten her head out of one of the holes in the lattice work covering the sewing room doorway and he thinks she's stuck! I tell him to calm down and not to worry, asked if she was looking at him &/or meowing and he said yes to both. I said that if the cat got her head through the opening, then she can get it back out again. I told him to pet her head a bit to calm her down and then to gently push her head back into the opening to encourage her to get out by herself. He really is crying now and tells me that she's just laying there looking all limp and he's afraid something is terribly wrong. I asked if she was crying loudly or squirming around and he says no, she's just laying there calmly and meowing in a little voice. I can see what is happening in my mind and it's enough to make me ROTFLMAOWTIME! I assure Derek that Cassie's OK and tell him again that she will be able to get her head out by herself. All he has to do is talk to her calmly and gently push her head a bit. He's asking me if I am sure of this. Before I can respond he makes this big sigh and says in the calmest 12 year old Young Man voice "Oh Good!! Don't worry Miss Mary, Cassie just popped her head back through the hole all by herself." You would have been very proud of me, I didn't laugh at the kiddo and just told him I was sure that this had been a very scary thing to experience. He says thanks, sorry for bothering me and hung up. By this time, DH asnd I are having trouble not rolling on the floor in the middle of the Christmas Shop laughing our heads off :-). this poor kid has never had a cat so had no idea the sort of things they can get into -- AND back out of again -- LOLOL! Cassie was just fine the rest of the time we were gone and Derek earned his money that time :-). CiaoMeow >^;;^<

She was just testing him--that naughty little girl! ;-) Good thing Derek is young. She probably used up a couple of his lives. LOL!
