OT and ON-I need spring not snow-even in Alaska

Okay, I've really had enough. I got up this morning and there was a good eight inches of snow. I know that I live in Alaska, but this is unusual even for the Anchorage area. I really did not need treacherous roads this morning for my commute to school. There is no grass showing again. Please send up some some warmth. There was lots of sun today so I just need some warmth. At least enough to melt the snow. Please.

On a sad note, one of our students and his family are now homeless. There house, just down the street from school, burned to the ground yesterday. We could see the smoke from our windows. Everything is lost. No organized response from school at large yet, if at all, but we have a very, very strong Red Cross in the state. They are helping out already. I'm sure that they could use any extra warm thoughts you may have.

Life is incredibly busy at the moment. All that goes along with school and I am trying to finish a retirement quilt as well. By May 3. I'm not panicky yet, but getting a bit stressed. The top is 95% done, so I hope to finish it this weekend and hopefully start machine quilting it. Totally a design of my own. I'll definitely have pictures sometime soon. Bert is updating our website again so I will post a link when that is all done.

I've been reading most days. Just not time to respond. Hang in there everyone.

Good luck with the quilt -your designs are always so interesting, can't wait for a photo! We have spring here in Munich, even though it's still cool enough to want gloves in the morning. My tulips are ready to pop if we get just 2 warm days! Hope your snow disappears soon. Roberta in D

Sending warm thoughts for the student and his family - will keep them in my prayers. ALSO -- sending WARM weather thoughts for Alaska. Maine is in a heat-wave (60*!!) and the last of our snowbanks melted over the weekend, and the daffodils are starting to poke through. . . . Spring will come - keep positive thoughts! ME-Judy
