Hi Barb! Sorry, I don't have an answer to your questions, but I'm sure someone will have answers for you. I just had to say.... you're in sunny Hawaii (no I'm not jealous... REALLY! Would you like to buy some swampland from me now? LOL) and you're heading to Alaska?!?!? Whew, what a change that will be for you.

Although you know what I'd love to do someday? Go on one of those cruises that take you up the pacific coast near the icebergs, and you can see the whales in their own environment. :o)

There is an absolutely wonderful yarn store in Bellingham, WA called the Wool Station.

Bellingham is where you pick up the Alaska Ferry.

If you have time, come over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge into Gig Harbor. There is a lovely yarn shop called The Yarn Garden of Gig Harbor, located on Soundview Drive, along the waterfront. Contact me directly for more specific directions! The shop will be moving to a new location in mid-June, but will still be in the waterfront district.

Sounds like fun, but I don't know how much knitting I'd get done. When I'm around nature, I don't usually even look at anything else. I'd be too busy hanging over the side of the ship looking for whales... or seals. :o)

I know!!! In fact I told Matthew, the next big trip we make I would like it to be to the east coast! I really want to go to St Johns and see if I can locate the places (from description) that my Mom used to talk about. :o)
