Quilting stores in Montreal?

My husband and I are heading to Montreal on Friday and I hope to do some fabric shopping. I have been through some of the stores on Saint-Hubert, but it was on a Sunday, and they weren't all open. Does anyone know of any LQS stores along that strip? I also plan to visit Fabricville on Ste. Catherine which is close to where we will be staying. Thanks, Jane MacDonald

Well there used to be a shop called The Calico Shoppe in Pt. Claire that I used to visit - haven't been to it in a few years tho'. They had a lovely gift room and a tea room too - quite quaint really.

Hi Jane, if you go to montrealplus.ca and then search 'fabric shops' - a full list comes up with phone #'s, etc. Enjoy browsing and enjoy Montreal. jennellh (change the mail to news)

My regular news server is not working so I will try posting with google groups. I hope it is not too late for you to get this! There are several good quilt stores in Montreal but not along St Hubert (which is mostly closed on Sunday as you have found out). You will need a car to get to them.

In the West Island there is: Quilte Classique

63d Donegani Ave. Pointe Claire 514-630-8885

or

Maison de Calico

324 Lakeshore Pointe Claire 514 695 0728

Across the Mercier Bridge there is: Calico Cottage (my favorite)

Allison in Montreal (the too-hot weather should be done by the time you arrive. It will be lovely for the Jazz fest)

Oh, Allison! You've brought back such lovely memories! DH and I went to Montreal for our anniversary about 15 years ago, and we stumbled upon the Jazz Festival. It was just *wonderful*! We sat outside and listened to a variety of different musicians and had such a lovely time. :)
