book on quilting feathers

I haven't heard of it, but I have a hard enough time quilting cloth, much less feathers! You must have an amazing machine, or hand stitch!

I googled a bit more, it seems there are multiple books dedicated to the art of feathering (or whatever you want to call it..), they are

Feathers that Fly - Lee Cleland Infinite Feathers - Anita Shackelford The Art of Feather Quilting - Judy Allen

and probably many more! I'm fairly sure it was the first that I saw, but may not be the one I'd seen a good review of, however it did seem to suit my learning style, with lots of details. Now that someone has said that one of the mctavishing books has a section on feathers, maybe purchasing that would kill two birds with one stone ;-P

Feathers are a wonderful, lovely quilting pattern. But.... there are just so many things you can do with feathers. I'd rather spend my money on a book that covers a lot more than just feathers! Here's two books I highly recommend that have excellent instructions and applications of feather motifs, filler patterns, marking and preparation and a lot more! I hate to keep mentioning WalMart , but they have good prices and reasonable shipping-

I actually already have this one, but there isn't enough about how actually to do it, I can do reasonably at her question marks and feathers combo, but the feathers aren't good enough to be on there own.

I've definitely seen this somewhere, will keep an eye open for it and try and nosy inside if before buying!

In addition to those, I believe that Marianne Fons' book _Fine Feathers_ has recently been republished, and it's excellent, too.

Diane Gaudinski had a wonderful article on machine feathers in Quiltmaker, might have been January 2007. And I really like Karen MacTavish's feathers in her book, you can watch her do them on the accompanying DVD, also see how she uses mactavishing as background filler for designs like this. Both methods are useful. I love feathers, and I can actually see some progress with the help of these two talented women! Roberta in D

lol. It was'nt lost on me!

I have the book by Anita Schakelford. I really like it. It takes you though exercises to get you from basic to complicated and from marked to not-marked feathered designs.
