Visiting CA for a few weeks

We are leaving for vacation tomorrow morning so you won't hear from me for a while. You haven't heard from me much lately because I was busy with a quilt auction (see other post for the results).

Friday through Tuesday we will be staying in Santa Clarita, California. After arriving Friday we will visit an elderly aunt in Fontana before heading to our hotel in Santa Clarita. Saturday morning we will be in Camarillo area and will attend a family wedding in Moorepark at 5:00. Sunday we need to deliver our sons to LAX for a 4 p.m. flight. Monday we will visit the aunt again in Fontana before heading north on Tuesday.

My husband and I plan to drive up the coast highway, just enjoying the drive and staying where we land for a few days. We have not made that drive in years and are really looking forward to it. Plan to take it slow and enjoy the views. Our goal is Lake Tahoe. We will not go to San Francisco. We have reservations in the Tahoe area but I am not sure where. Our goal is to enjoy the beauty of the coast and lake seeing as little of civilization as possible (can one still enjoy Lake Tahoe with out seeing a Casino?) We will fly out of Reno.

If any of you live along that route and have time for a visit please email me ASAP. We aren't looking for a bed or meal but if we have time it is always fun to meet other quilters. I don't plan to stop at every quilt store along the way but will have my Quilter's Travel Companion with me just in case.

Be good while I am away. I probably won't read all the posts when I return so if you want me to know something please email me privately.

I live in Reno -- well across the street anyway! We've got some nice quilt shops here. You MUST visit Windy Moon if you have any time in Reno. I haven't been to the shops at South Lake Tahoe yet, but there are a couple around the northern end of the lake. Ooops, around here people say, "The Lake." I'm sure there are slot machines in the grocery stores like here in Reno and Sparks. And I really am tired of those slot machines in the airport that are constantly screaming, "Wheeel of Fortunnne!" Otherwise, you can avoid casinos. You'll love it here!

thanks for the tip on the stores. I don't know if we will be in Reno anytime other than to catch the plane on Tuesday. I will have your information with me just in case.
