Suggestions for baby gift book

Apr 06, 2005 10 Replies

A friend of mine just had a baby girl... she's not a scrapper (she says she's not creative...) and I thought it would be a nice idea to make her a little album that she can put some of her favourite baby photos in. Has anyone ever done this? I've made giftbooks, but only the completed pages with photos... I'm thinking eight pages 6x6... anybody got any examples?

Hi Karen,

I've done ABC albums for 2 people with babies. They were quite easy and turned out very cute. I then gave them each an adhesive and a black zig pen. All they have to do is add photos. Check out my link below under ABC album to see examples. I used an ABC snap pack from Creative Memories, but I've also done one without the snap pack. I'll eventually take pictures of it.

I have found that this website has been a great help to me with my creative block. Just go to search and type in baby gift album or search their main gallery. Hope this helps Tracy K

Karen I just made one for one of my hubby's clients. It was a 6 x 6 book. I did a title page with the baby's birth info and room for a picture. The rest of the book is one page for a picture each month and the facing page three sections: This month I..., Favorite things, For the first time I.... There is also a page for Mom's thoughts, Dad's thoughts and big brother's thoughts, and pages for pictures of Mom, Dad, big brother and grandparents. Unfortunately I didn't have time to scan any of the pages before it was sent off.

That sounds adorable... I went to the dollar tree today and stocked up on blue and yellow and nursery-style papers and stickers for the album... and as a bonus I saved myself a lot of effort because they had some cute little nine-inch square mulberry-covered scrapbooks with nine pages in them. So I bought one and now I don't have to do the work of assembling an album from scratch... I just have to work out how to decorate the pages! ~Karen aka Kajikit Crafts, cats, and chocolate - the three essentials of life

I did 8 1/2"x11" for all three of my nieces. What I did was make pages and leave the mats free so they could be put in whatever way the picture is.

Hi Karen, I was just about to tell you that Dollar tree had the Mulberry paper albums 9 x 9 for $1.00 pc. I am making my Girlfriend one for son to be ( due in July). They also had some really GREAT vellum baby phrase stickers and fuzzy baby stickers for $1.00. Good Luck and God Bless, Dorothy in NY
