How do you use fibers and ribbons on your layouts? I tend to run them across the page as a border, or to put them on a tag. What else can I do with them? I find it especially hard to find ways to use up the fluffy fibers that don't look stupid... ~Karen aka Kajikit Crafts, cats, and chocolate - the three essentials of life
I tend to use flat ribbon in my layouts. I use it as borders and frames for my photos. I have also wrapped a small bit around the corners of my photos (matted and unmatted) to give the look of photo corners.
fibers....ribbon.........wire......beads.......pieces of metal......anything pretty, soft or shiny............soundl like I'm nesting with the crows........
Karen I use fibers on tags and use the tags as decoration/journaling pieces. Also have used ribbon threaded though punched openings as borders. Used fiber as a lasso to connect one page to another, with a PP character holding it. I have seen fiber creations such as a "God's Eye" to embellish a page. I think wherever your imagination takes you. I like to use twine as 'rope' around frames. Used it with a PP anchor on a nautical page.
Boy...will your ears be ringing Dave once we have all pelted that trash can hiding place with boots, beaded slippers, boomerangs, altered tins, paint cans, border punches and anything else we can get our hands on......LOL. Anyone that buys out whole lines of paper supplies has no room to talk about anyone else's stash building habits!!!!!! Now I did the "buy every fiber you can find" thing about a month ago and have loads to try...ROFL However, I have never....repeat NEVER....gone out and bought 1100 sheets of paper. In fact I don't even own a quarter of that.....ROFLMAO
Marilyn, After I read your post it got me to thinking - just how many sheets of paper do I have? I didn't think I really went overboard on the paper, though I have been buying the heck out of cardstock - I never seem to be able to keep enough of it on hand to match up with the paper I have. I hate to not have the piece in the right color at one in the morning...... One paper stack is almost 200 sheets............ How many sheets of paper does it take to make a paper floozie?
Sandy....don't even go there!!!!!! I have absolutely no idea what classifies you as a paper floozy and I don't think I want to! All I know is that I tend to use more cardstock than patterned paper but I love to own patterned paper anyway. Some LO's feature quite a bit and others none....depends on what I feel works best for that particular LO...LOL
This reply had me go and look at what I have in my stash. I probably underestimated a little, as I have two p/paper stacks 108 & 144, several (3) small 24 sheets Scrap Pads by Provocraft, a Paper Pizazz Ephemera Backgrounds and a Karen Neuberger 18 sheet Floral Pad and quite a bit of individually bought stuff....ROFL. Not to mention I have 4 Sizzles Pads that I just love :o) Scarey when you really look at what you have in your stash.....ROFL
Like you I have been leaning more towards cardstock but find that the patterned paper shouts "buy me" while I am there and it helps to "inspire", so is worth the money. Anyway, I still think that we all have a looooong way to go to beat our resident paper floozy Dave.
The LSS just called me - they have the special paper that I ordered in - so I really just have to go get it today. DS is going with me just in case we pass a yard sale (his favorite shopping experience) on the way. Then it's off to the cub scout fishing event, from there to ball practice, then to the 4-H fun day enrollment event. I think the spring/summer season has started....... Have a good day. Sandy

Shame on you Marilyn! Not spending a cent and admitting to it! tsk!
I became the proud owner of my first set of chalks today! Oh they are very pretty, all 24 shades, neatly stacked in a round container :) Also bought my first punch today - a medium sized circle, yes I know it's a bit boring, but how many times would you use something like a clover, butterfly or feet? ;)
