idea...it pushes you beyond your comfort zone.
WOW! Marilyn! Great job!! My goodness you must share with us how you did
it! I love it!!!

a good friend is a life long treasure
Thank you Sabrina...it wasn't that hard really. Sprayed my tin outside and
in with gold spray paint bought a Christmas to spray pine cones, after
giving it a light sand to allow the paint to grip. Inside is lined with a
purple tag, printed with a background stamp and finished with Perfect Pearls
for an iridescent look to match the lid. Added some gold crochet yarn and
made the tassell and tossed in my gold filigree ball so my Rainbow Bridge
Furkids can chase it around :o) It was too big to put in a
scrapbook.....LOL
The jewels used are body jewels from the cheap pharmacy on the high
street:o) Would you believe that some of them in the pack are exactly the
same as the Crystal Stickers I have...... only these cost £1.00 a pk.
Crystal Stickers are around £3.99 here for 12 tiny accent stickers. I lined
the lid with the same card as the tag, cutting it as best I could to fit the
contours...hey...near enough was good enough....LOL It is supposed to look
sort of ethnic....Indian/Far East?????
The outside lid is made from thick white card dabbed with different coloured
pigment inks and embossing powder applied. I then scrapped some children's
wax crayon over and used the heat gun to melt it and move it around a
little....kinda finger painting without the fingers....UTEE is
hot....ouch!!!!! LOL Covered the whole lot with about 5 layers of UTEE and
added a final embossing powder with glitter through it.....I like
sparkle....ROFL Cut a square of sequin waste, then cut it into 2 triangles,
stuck a piece on each end and trimmed edges. I then carefully used the
embossing gun to melt the clear/glitter embossing so that the sequin waste
sort of sunk down but didn't melt. I stuck the card to the top and when it
was dries I wound the same crochet yarn around a few time to give a sort of
border to hide the edge of the card. My jewelled circle with the hand
mirror charm in it was then adhered...BTW....jewelled circle is belly button
jewellery from cheapo pharmacy.
My labels were originally Paper Pizzazz Embossed Word Labels in silver and
say "Special & Memory". I coloured them with a black OHP pen and rubbed over
the words before fully dry. I then covered that with red OHP and again
burnished before fully dry. I put a hole in each tag and set a star eyelet,
then stuck them both onto the lid and attach my filigree butterfly. When the
whole lot was dry I covered it with two coats of Judikins Diamond
Glaze....voila!!!!!!
Essay over now...so go find your Altoids tin and get started...ROFL
