What are the Best Scrapbooking Sites?

A few weeks back, I posted a question asking everyone what their Top 5 favorite scrapbooking tools were...the response was great and I've already purchased several of the things recommended in that list at Michael's recent sale weekend.

Another related question I have revolves around trying to wade through the seemingly millions of "how-to" and retail supply scrapbooking sites. Can everybody give me their input on the best site(s) (other than this group's archives!) to find good tutorial info on scrapbooking as well as the best site(s) for ordering scrapbooking supplies? I'm familiar with everything my local Michael's and Joann's has, but there must be some great online sites that will make getting supplies easy.

I've gotten a lot out of the site for Paper Crafts Magazine (papercraftsmag.com), as well as some of the sites put by manufacturers (like Fiskars). But that's about it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Noah

Hi NoahC,

Can't say I have a particular favourite and generally use Google to search for what I want....I plugged in *scrapbooking how-to* and came up with this page that lists loads of useful looking links....depends on what you are planning to do:

One of the comprehensive sites I visit from time to time is Creating Keepsakes...they have a pretty extensive Tips Section:

Can't help with the supply side as I am in the UK with limited access to LSS (one in my area), no Michael's, Joann's or AC Moore's and no bargains either :o( I mostly buy from the US or eBay. Sorry I am not a lot of help but it does mean that I have to be creative about obtaining supplies :o)

Noah, I don't know if it is in the archives, but Scraps Ahoy's Learning Center is where I go if I have a question about a technique.

When I buy supplies online I only order from a few places, mostly due to the fact there are so many out there it is too hard to check the credibility of each one before ordering. I get tired of doing a search through the Better Business Bureau and Chambers of Commerce everytime I see a bargain on a new site. Mostly for new ones, if they don't take Paypal I leave them alone. These are the ones I use:

they have a catalog - I look at the catalog and then order online

they also have a catalog which I order from online I also buy a lot of supplies through Ebay. I'm sure there are others out there as good, I just have not really needed them. Sandy

Noah, I think that Two Peas in a Bucket is a good source but I have not checked them in a looooog time so they may have changed. Any of the scrapbook magazine sites are good sources; Making Memories,Paper Cuts,Creative Keepsakes. My favorite on line store is Creative Xpress. When you order, you will receive a catalog. They have one price shipping. I have always been very satisfied with their service and since I usually end up calling their toll free line ..they have very courteous, friendly people on the phone.

I have outlook too and that makes rcs easier. There is some interesting stuff on 2 peas. Do you post there too. If so what's your user name.

Are all of these places on the group website?

The only places I've ordered from are QVC and Carolee's Creations and I've been happy with both. Carolee's is mostly paper but they have a great discount section.

Hi Folks. Thanks for the great suggestions as always. So many sites to check out, so little time! There are a bunch of "scrapbooking superstores" advertised in Google, and I was wondering if they actually are good? "CreateForLess.com" seems to be the biggest advertiser here.

By the way, I'm also that rare breed called "a male scrapper", but unlike Dave, I'm not a male stripper. :-)

Cheers, Noah

SABRINA!! Now you have really given me a bad name!! WAH! No respect gleaned from the newbies now! WAH!

Well all that I can say now, it is nice to have ANOTHER guy in here to (hopefully) catch some of the enablin' and scrappin' these OLD gals throw out!!

Dave's a stripper??? Dave, shame on you! Here I was thinking you were this nice, decent, respectable guy, only to find out you're a stripper. No wonder they're throwing boomerangs at you! So the truck driver bit is just a cover, right? *ducks*

Guys, why do you suppose there are so few male scrappers? Are your scrapbooks so much different from the pages we see posted here?
