Heading north..... Hey Sandy in Henderson......

Well, next Wed. (Feb. 6) I will be heading up to St. George, Utah for a

3 day seminar with Superior Threads. I will be driving and have to go into the Las Vegas area on the way. Will be driving up on Wed., the seminar ends mid afternoon on Sat. but as of now I will be staying over to head out on Sunday. (Since I don't really want to start a 7 hour or so drive at 2:30 or 3 in the afternoon.) If you aren't too busy maybe I could meet and say "hi" on Sunday?? Are any of the LQSs open in your area on Sunday?

For the rest of you, I would appreciate good weather and safe driving thoughts on those 2 days. I will report back on the seminar and what we learn. (And maybe what threads I end up buying during our "warehouse shopping tour". )

Do I ever wish I could go with you. I'd love to get in on a warehouse sale of theirs. I love Superior threads. Gen

Well, I haven't really used many of the Superior threads. This is the first time Superior is doing this kind of intense training session, so I hope to learn a lot and be able to use it in my teaching as well as personal work. At $150 for the seminars, most food and such and a good deal on the hotel room I couldn't pass it up when I heard about it. And limited to 35 participants. Plus we are using our own machines, which I prefer, since that is what I will be using in future. The warehouse buying (at a discount too ) is a bonus. The Tin Lizzie I got is calibrated using Superior's King Tut thread and that is one that is highly recommended for it. So it is even more of an incentive.

Looking forward to it, but not the drive. sigh.

Hi Pati! There is one LQS that's open, though it's not close to where I am, unfortunately. It's the Fabric Boutique, which is close to the Strip. "My" LQS is closed on Sundays. :( That's the bad news. ;)

The good news is that Sunday is the last day of our local show! I will spend part of the day working there (2:00 and on, though the show is open in the morning, as well), and you could see the show on your way

-- what good timing! The show isn't far from the freeway you'll need to be on, so it's even conveniently situated -- meant to be, I'd say. LOL!

Here's a link to the brochure: . The show will be at the Henderson Convention Center, located at 200 Water St. in Henderson. If you want to go (and it's usually a very nice show), you could get a map to 200 Water Street, Henderson, NV. :)

"Your" shop is wonderful! I was just talking about it last night. I was chatting with my sister and asking her where they will be house hunting this summer and she said Henderson. I told her to be sure she's not too far from the quilt shop :-)

Oh, Marcella! That's great news! That means I might get to renew our acquaintance if/when you visit your sister! :D

Exactly!

I keep hoping my husbands company will send us back again. They have a thing about a different place every time. Hard to complain since last year was Jamaica :-)

I know. The sacrifices we make for our spouse's. ;-)

It sounds like they are pretty set on Henderson so with luck I will get to visit from time to time.
