I'm starting the week with a Dundee cake and scones for tea :-D I have also put the first part of the mystery in the files of my yahoo mystery group (quilt_mystery) and I am plotting an hour in the sewing room to have a bit of sewing fun :-D the kids can play in the room next to mine and they will like me being so close so all will be happy!

Gentlemen, start your engines. Can you tell we're suffering Nascar Withdrawal Syndrome? In preparation for this great event, and, of course, in addition to gathering sufficient fuel such as chocolate and Dundee cake, we will want a clean SM, a new needle, and a rack of full bobbins. Furthermore, a casserole in the freezer and clean underwear for the family would be nice. Just one more. Have you washed and polished your eyeglasses or do they look like you dipped them in the lard bucket? Get ready. Polly

Dipped in the lard bucket? Those would be some mighty dirty glasses! LOL Glad mine are already clean. Debra in VA See my quilts at

Eventhough I had forgotten already, I have a project that I am starting. So I'm already in the mix. Hooray!! Happy quilting everyone. Marlys in Indiana

I am ready! Full speed ahead on the blue and yellow log cabin with small breaks for PFP'ing the Coneflower Crazies blocks. Woohoo!!!

I'm going to try to complete a quilt top this week. It's a simple maple leaf pattern, so I hope it goes as quickly as I

*think* it will. :)

I'm all set. Just filled the freezer and DH knows all the takeout numbers ;-)

I am starting early. Next week is my birthday and there are planned festivities so I won't be able to give the week my undivided attention.

Now please don't laugh!! - But Sunday I am doing Christmas dinner with all the trimmings so this weekend is SHOT! I'll try and get there by next weekend:-)

I TOLD you that we were always late in Africa (and not in the sense of the First Ladies Detective Agency).

And if that is cryptic - ask Ragmop:-)

Yesterday I went to "Road to Calif." and last night I had all sorts of artsy quilt ideas dancing in my head and couldn't go to sleep for two hours. We won't be home from vacation until Monday afternoon. I did get my new top about 1/3 put together at one of the hotel stops. I probably won't get another chance until at least Wed. Today we are driving Barstow, Ca to Vegas to meet up with some college friends - 5 couples that went to U of Idaho. I'll post some pics when I get home of quilts. Debra in Idaho

I understand. Our Christmas gathering is next Saturday, a bit late, but the first we all could get together.

Merry Christmas, Tutu Hope you get Quilty gifts :)

Ummmm, Polly, I'm in a dilemma. Can I be excused this year? you see, my SM is BURIED under a few boxes, bins etc of stash and Christmas ornaments and trappings as everything that was being stored in the LR until the Butterfly Studio is finished is now in our bedroom (we are sleeping in DS's room and he is on the Futon) whilst the LR, entryway are being painted. don't even have room to put up the card table to work on a quilty puzzle. Painter promises to be done by this Friday and will be 'gone' until the Studio is ready for painting....... I've had a reaction to the fumes (totally lost my voice) so I have literally been hiding in DS's room with a stack of library books this past week (yes, quilty ones, too). Had been in hotels before that (they're filled with waiting lists as there are 4 car auctions going on in this area). 'sides I'm in DAS-DE Boot once again for 3 weeks. This weather has wreaked havoc on the L foot I had surgery on Dec 2005..so we're 'buying time' by bracing it during the day. So, can I be an exception please?

I will leave Mon morning for a week of training for work. I am taking my first Moon/Sun over the Mountain block to see how I like doing that before I cut fabric for more. Will also take along a reverse applique piece in progress, and going to mark out either a new Celtic pattern or a wholecloth piece to have along "just in case".

Picked up an eBay w> Are ye ready??

The Lovely Polly is not at Liberty to grant Dispensations. That is the Privilege of our Frood Friend, and the Undersigned.

We are not without sympathy, given your unique plight. Therefore, you are excused this year .... providing of course that you make proper recompense to the aforementioned Authorities!

With kind regards for your good health, I remain, Her Majesty, Pat, Queen of Everything

Butterfly I always thought that reading about quilting was totally acceptable during Annual Quilting Week.
