RCTQ Annual Quilting Weeks 2010

Once again it is time for the RCTQ Annual Quilting Weeks! Can't remember how long we've been doing this, maybe seven or eight years!? (Yes, it used to be just a week or ten days, but lets stretch it out and go for two weeks this time!)

It is easy to get side tracked by holiday events during the end of one year and the start of the new year. Now our holiday things are in the past and we are paying more attention to quilting. Our RCTQ Quilting Weeks is a way to jump start our projects and plans. This is a good opportunity to start a new project, or to sharpen your focus on a UFO. It is also a good way to avoid cabin fever.

The time frame this year: January 16 through January 31.

Please join the fun!

Oh great! Thanks for the reminder, as usual, PAT. I *might* just be able to make the little quilt that has been patiently waiting since November - to be drawn out properly even! I can get the fabrics out anyway - I know what they are, but they're still in hiding >g<

Have a happy day/week/ fortnight! . In message , Pat in Virginia writes

Thanks, Pat!!!!!! I almost forgot about this! I'm IN!

I have a few projects started that i'd like to finish. A few table runners that need FMQ and one to piece. I guess i could work on those in the next few weeks!!

Perfect! I have a stack of nags sitting here, and must finish. I had already decided to put these few behind me and then take a break and do nothing but clean up my space. I have lost projects, pieces of fabric that I need, books, equipment ..... I think I might have an entire fabric store somewhere in this room but it's under a pile and I can't see it.

So, I am going to use this allotted time to finish a specific list of projects. I'm going to post them this week so that maybe after the "Quilting Weeks" time is over I will be able to show the results of my work and see that I really did what I intended.

I'm in, Pat.

Great timing. Looking forward to it. And that gives me some time for the annual- never-finished muck out and organization of the sewing room. I committed to finish at least 4 UFOs for my guild chapter this year (I am Chapter Chair so must set a good example. Right??) And need to get next quarter's class samples made too. Maybe I will even work on my photos and such..... all concerning quilting.

Glad you are IN, Amy. We do this every year. Same Pat Time. Same Pat Channel.

This sounds like a great idea.

Maybe I'll try a patchwork as I've been up to my ears in wholecloth for far too long. I could even try to do one using my EQ6 as an excuse to practise a bit. It's so long since i used it, I doubt but I've forgotten how.

Are there rules?

I remembered from last year. Except I didn't meet my goals. I'll try this year, tho! amy in CNY
