Hear ye, hear ye!

All who see this: Know ye that The Umpteenth Annual Quilting Week for Residents and Visitors of RCTQ Land shall commence on Saturday, 20 January

2007, and shall continue through Sunday,
28 January 2007.

Enjoy this time for practicing and perfecting ye personal craftsmanship, and for study of the fine art and history of Quilting.

Eat, quilt, and be merry!

Great! Just what I need as an excuse for dropping everything and doing some designing - what I love best! I shall just ignore all those 'other' things I *should* be doing. Thanks PAT!! . In message , Pat in Virginia writes

Hey wooohoooo! I can take part this year! I'm home on school vacation with no major plans - yaaaaaaaay!

I shall prepare to quilt! Thanks for the heads-up, Your Highness!

Yea!! Thanks Pat!! OOPPSS!! I mean You Royal Highness!!

Nana..... Whose ole machine got infected by ye ole Grinch right before Christmas. DH could NOT stand all of the boo hooing & sobbign & took me to the store & I had to get a brand spanking new Hasqvarna Viking BEAUTY!! Ain't he great??!!

Ok, I'll bite. What is the Umpteenth Annual Quilting Week all about? Inquiring minds want to know.

Oh dear! Poor John - all these weird "traditions". lol Good news is they are all entirely optional, and this is one I never got into myself so I can't offer any help.

But jusy wait until you hear about TLAPD! roflmao

Lovely! Kiss your DH once or twice from me.

It's just a fun thing, John. I suspect that the really dedicated quilters toss it out periodically for people like me, to inspire and energize us to get in a bit more sewing time. I bite the bait every time I see it, and it's always a helpful burr under my saddle that gets me a bit further on with my current project--or even starts me on the next one! And no comments on the mixed metaphors, please!! I'm too tired to think logically tonight!

If things go as we hope, we may be moving and begin training that week. Should know on Tuesday (16th)

And it gives a licence - for those of us who sometimes need a reason to ditch the mundane stuff and indulge in a dedicated week of our favourite 'hobby/part of life'. Most years I would be doing quilty things anyway, but this year - had I not been reminded - I would have been spending most of my days doing 'duty' things. I hardly dare mention the word housework! but it did figure in there somewhere >g< . In message , Pat in Virginia writes

Sorry Highenss

Not this time. Can't make it. Unfortunately those dratted "other" things keep interfering and won't let me quilt this week (silly things like making curtains, being on call and such).

What *perfect* timing! I'll be hosting a mystery on my mystery group then :-)

Oh how refreshing that sounds! Count me in, your Highness!

This is good to know. Too bad no one will pay me to stay home and play with quilts instead of going to work!!! Guess I'll have to try to squeeze some quilty time on the weekend.
