Great! Just what I need as an excuse for dropping everything and doing some designing - what I love best! I shall just ignore all those 'other' things I *should* be doing. Thanks PAT!! . In message , Pat in Virginia writes

Oh dear! Poor John - all these weird "traditions". lol Good news is they are all entirely optional, and this is one I never got into myself so I can't offer any help.

But jusy wait until you hear about TLAPD! roflmao

It's just a fun thing, John. I suspect that the really dedicated quilters toss it out periodically for people like me, to inspire and energize us to get in a bit more sewing time. I bite the bait every time I see it, and it's always a helpful burr under my saddle that gets me a bit further on with my current project--or even starts me on the next one! And no comments on the mixed metaphors, please!! I'm too tired to think logically tonight!

And it gives a licence - for those of us who sometimes need a reason to ditch the mundane stuff and indulge in a dedicated week of our favourite 'hobby/part of life'. Most years I would be doing quilty things anyway, but this year - had I not been reminded - I would have been spending most of my days doing 'duty' things. I hardly dare mention the word housework! but it did figure in there somewhere >g< . In message , Pat in Virginia writes

Sorry Highenss

Not this time. Can't make it. Unfortunately those dratted "other" things keep interfering and won't let me quilt this week (silly things like making curtains, being on call and such).

This is good to know. Too bad no one will pay me to stay home and play with quilts instead of going to work!!! Guess I'll have to try to squeeze some quilty time on the weekend.
