Walking down the street today, I spied a woman rootling in a cardboard box on the sidewalk. So I stopped to have a look. A little sign said "zum mitnehmen" (take it with you), so we did! Well, we left the un-cottons. But I came home with a lovely red /with white pinstripe and a 19th-century repro in rose pink. And no undignified quarreling either -her taste ran to the orange and yellow bouquets on a white background :-) And we both left the light green gingham for somebody else.
