OT hugging in public

Back in the 50's and 60's, there are those of you who were cautioned about a PDA. (gasp) Public Display of Affection. We don't even want to know what's done in public these days... but for the 1st time that I remember here at rctq, there's a hug afoot (sorry, just could not help myself) that's not a secret and surely a display of affection. Ginger's post of 3/6 invited all of us to do a 'foot' block for Butterfly's daughter who nearly lost her foot in one whale of a car wreck. Ginger must be younger or skinnier than I am. It is certainly Not Easy to draw around your foot. Creaky joints. Bad knees. Runny nose. Short arms. Pot belly. Asthma. Arthritic fingers. Crayons peeled to the nub. Surviving that, I have indeed done a foot block for Bridgette. No modesty here. My foot is quite something. Kinda gags me if you want the truth. Polly

(((from Ginger: we have heard about Mz Butterfly's DD and her problems after the car accident. Now DD is on the mend after a scary period of not knowing if the doctors could save her right foot. She has a long road ahead of her for rehabilitation.

Would you like to make a great gal smile? Would you like to be able to help her keep busy during this time? [You gotta know that Bridgette is a go-getter]

Take a piece of fabric and trace your right foot on it. Or the right foot of your baby/kid/DH/SO/ dog/cat. Outline it and embellish it however you want [toe ring? Nail polish looking design? Flipflops? Use your imagination!]. Send it in a cheery card to: Bridgette Doremire

She will have a blast arranging and rearranging the designs and blocks, reading cards, and she'll have a Right Foot Saved quilt when it is all done!)))

oh, Polly, I am not younger or skinnier than you ;)) I did suggest we could get a right foot from a baby or child or even a pet! Perhaps a coloring book, or comically drawn one. And thanks to you, not only is your post a gentle reminder to everyone, I will be singing the hokey-pokey song in my head all day.

A quilt square arrived a few days ago, my being a little too sick to do anything other than appreciate it. I figure something's afoot, but that's ok, a public thank you to B V from Canada. It does dress up the one wall I've been staring at for a few weeks. The paint is not peeling yet, but if I stare at it any more, it just might.
