Haw. It's only because we all have the same kiln. LOL Otherwise I'm a kiln dummy and I'm sticking to my story. (Never ask me how long it took me to initially set it up.)

Pizza and red wine, huh? Well, throw in a little chocolate, and even I might find a way to make a bead or two. Heaven knows I've sometimes been motivated by less. 'Course I'd probably have to build a SHED first...

Yes. In an incredible move of irony, it was Australian wine, which we find to be much nicer than the French wines available here. The pizza was pepperoni and black olives. Yummm.

One never throws chocolate. Lightly fling it into the air only to catch it on one's tongue perhaps. But throw! I could offer you some Thornton's finest truffles if you insist....

It would take motivation of the highest sort for us to build another SHED (sorry, Kalera). The first one was an experience that can be likened to being submersed in a vat of past-its-sell-by-date custard. We actually constructed our designated portions of the SHED in separate parts of the garden to avoid argument, and only approached each other during the final phase when I had to read the instructions to him in that patented bored-but-not-saying-what-a-moron-you-are tone of voice all wives must use at least once on their husbands. It was a test of marital strength. Two days later we had gale force winds that were a test of the screws and bolts on the shed. It's still standing and we're still married. Amazing how that happens.

The sad part is I want a little workroom for my own, but there's NO way on this earth, this jewel set in a silver sea, this other Eden, this paradise, this Todmorden, that I will build another of those diabolical constructs.

Now, if someone is able to help me convince my siblings to sell the house on the island, they will get a free return ticket from anywhere in the US to the UK and a week on the boat. Plus scones and clotted cream. The body must not be in an easily found location, though!

Thanks! I am really amazed at how quickly he's progressed too. I hardly see him now but for tea breaks. It's been a huge change for me, with him out there and the kidlet in school, I find I have time on my hands to do something. I've waited for five years for free time!

Tomorrow he's promised to try the kiln. I'm waiting for some results that are annealed, we're planning a bead giveaway for RCB people since they've been so supportive, but not until we're sure the beads are worth giving away.

Hmmm...in my previous house we had a closet that we named the Taj-MaCloset--in part because, like the SHED, it loomed large in our lives, and in part because once we put something into that mammoth closet we could never find it again. Sounds like just the place...

Hmmm, wonder if he'll fall for it....

Of course! When it gets dark he's allowed to scuttle from the SHED to the boat, as long as he has beads to offer.

Last night he did get all that pizza and red wine and three hours of television. I think that's pretty darn generous.

And................. ta daaa... the first beads survived being annealed! Yippeee!!!!!!!!

So now he's going to be putting the rest in the kiln and getting them annealed.
