Meet-up! :D

I've just spent an absolutely wonderful afternoon! Kathy A. was in town with her DH for a conference, and we arranged to meet this afternoon -- something I was particularly looking forward to, since I admire not only her generous posts here but her amazing quilting. I wasn't disappointed! Not only is Kathy every bit as friendly and knowledgeable as she appears on this list, but so is her very patient DH, Eric.

We had lunch and then hit the LQS, where Eric did just as much browsing as Kathy and I. :) Then it was back to my house to chat and get better acquainted. Kathy had done what I'd hoped she'd be able to do, too -- she brought one of her gorgeous pieces with her so I could ooh, ahh, and drool all over it. I tried to hide it under one of my quilts, but she caught me at it. ;)

Kathy and Eric are just as much philocynics as I am, too, which meant that Dexter had his fair share (at least!) of attention while they were here. ;)

All in all, it was a wonderful afternoon, spent with wonderful people! :D

I'm so glad you had fun! Miz A and I had lunch last week and she was telling me about the upcoming adventure. I confess to being quite jealous!

Her husband is a wonderful fabric shopper. He spots all kinds of great stuff.

Hi Marcella! Kathy did say you'd had lunch together and that you'd said hi. I heard about the stripes, too. LOL! Unfortunately, he didn't find what I'd been looking for, but that's because it just doesn't seem to be available -- not a complete tragedy, though.

So what is this mythical fabric you dream about?

It *was* fun! BTW, I love that word, Pat. But no, I don't think we're starting a philocynics newsgroup -- and I've already made several philocynic theme quilts. You have only to look at three of them in my sewing room, two in the living room and one that periodically goes onto the bed in the guest room to see. ;)

It's not actually for me! Ally in the UK needs a couple of yards of some cartoony pink pigs for the backing on a quilt for her DNiece. It has to be *PINK* (as opposed to just pink)! Naturally, the only pigs available these days are Olivia -- in red or black. Either that, or the pigs are too realistic.

Ah yes, although the Olivia ones are cute. I spent Houston on the hunt for cute zebras (not real looking ones) and met with the same difficulty.

Sandy is just too kind. And she's also as much fun in person as she is on line.:) If any of you are in Las Vegas for the quilt show, be sure to check it out. I got a sneak preview of Sandy's entries, and they are definitely worth seeing.

My DH had a great time, even if he couldn't take Dexter home with him. Those two really hit it off! I hope Dexter isn't pouting too much at the relative lack of attention after we left.

Sandy's DH was so nice to put up with the weirdos in his house, and even did a good job admiring the quilt. *grin* (And Sandy was QUITE smooth in trying to hide that quilt! ROFLOL)

Thanks, Kathy!

No, but Dexter continues to look toward where your car was parked. He's wondering when your DH will be back to continue the petting to which Dexter feels he is entitled. Your DH did *such* a good job at it! ;)

My DH may not be good at going into the LQS, but he does a very good job of admiring quilts.

And I might have gotten away with it, too, if I hadn't forgotten that I'd hidden it under my quilt and then stupidly moved my quilt! Drat!

Come on back anytime, Kathy! :D

Yes, Olivia is really cute! But I suspect Ally will have to settle for something other that what would have been perfect. :S
