Thanks to Diana's rather strong suggestion, Lisa Caryl contacted me when she and her DH were about to arrive in my area. They were only here for a few days, and I was busy with seasonal stuff for a couple of those, but we managed to clear our calendars for yesterday morning and met at a LQS not far from the Strip, where they were staying. For those of you who've been here, it was the Fabric Boutique, which is a very nice shop. :) Unfortunately, I walked out of my house without either my camera or any show and tell -- it figures. :S
Lisa is a dear (she even brought me some *beautiful* batiks!), and so is her DH, who was a trooper about hanging around the LQS while we shopped. LOL! She found several bits and pieces (gorgeous ones, too!) for various projects she has in the works; some beautiful batiks found their way into her bag, along with a book and a pattern.
I was looking around in order to spend my gift certificate. When I got to the check-out, however, I suddenly discovered that I also had a completed punch-card, worth a further $20 in free merchandise. Woohoo! A quick trip back to the fabric section netted me a second bundle of FQs and two spare FQs to make up what I needed to finish off the card and the certificate. So, for the grand sum of $2.39, I came home with *14* FQs! Six of those were lovely Modas in creams and pinky-burgundies, and eight were Hoffman coordinates from the challenge.
After we'd finished our shopping there, I took Lisa and Steve back to the Strip so they could enjoy some free time on their last day in town. All in all, it was a delightful morning! :D
