OT??? Less cleaning = More quilting!

I'm in LOVE!!! It's a Bissell Pro-Heat 2X carpet cleaner. NAYY

First, I have three LARGE dogs who live in the house with me- my beloved HairyButt Gang- and most of you know all about them. This is Missouri's rainy- read muddy- season. The dogs have to go outdoors and come back in thru the dining room with a vinyl floor. They track in huge amounts of dirt and mud. My vinyl floor is a modestly priced one with little tiny 'dimples' in the surface texture- the dirt gets down inside those dimples and it is terribly difficult to get those little dimples cleaned again. I am disabled with arthritis and a few other 'goodies' so hard scrubbing is just about impossible for me.

So, I bought this carpet shampooer at WalMart for $179. I vacuumed the carpets with my Dyson Animal- four times- slowly and in all directions. Then I used the Bissell to clean the carpet. Oh my! It brought up HUGE clots of dog hair that had worked it's way down into the nap of the carpet. And dirt. Man, did it get the dirt out of the carpet. Embarrassing!

So I got this bright idea- if the brushes can get down into the carpet like that maybe the vinyl.... hmmmmmm. It worked! The vinyl is as clean as new without me having to kill myself. The brushes got all those little dimples clean as can be. And the Bissell heats the water and then sucks it up again, so no waiting hours for the floors to dry.

I'm in LOVE!!!! And now more time for quilting in my spotlessly clean house!

That is marvellous, Leslie! A reasonably priced miracle worker (we all need one of some description!). I don't get mud, but I do get lots of cat hair. I'll have to think about it. Thanks for the info. .

The Bissell sounds awesome. In my carpet cleaner, I have to heat the water. What a pain in the patoot! And it doesn't do as well as yours.

Envy...envy...envy...I mean that in a good way. :-)
