OT: visiting Orlando

DH has a conference in Orlando in mid-July and since we are empty-nesters, I am coming along. I plan to tan by the pool during the day and listen to trashy novels on my new mp3 player. We are staying a couple of days after the conference so DH can have some fun in Florida, too. Of course, we know all about the major tourist attractions in Orlando but are there other things that we should see or do while we are there? Any evening/nightlife attractions for our group to look into? Restaurants that should not be missed? Quilt shops that I should seek out during the day? We will not have a car---hotel provides shuttle to the conference---but I don't mind taking a cab---although mass transit would be cheaper. I cannot recall the exact name of the hotel that we are staying at but I think it is a Sheraton and I think their website said that they were walking distance to Sea World. We are open to suggestions.

TIA

You might like Leu Gardens if you can stand being outdoors in the heat.

idea would be the Morse Museum, lots of Tiffany Art Works.http://www.morsemuseum.org/home.htm There is a restaurant for every appetite. One on Rt. 50 with a Carousel Horse in front that has the best Calzone in the world. One is big enough for two people. I think the name is "Marie's". Queen Ann's Lace Quilt Shop is still in Kissimmee but has moved and has new owners. Haven't been there since the changes.
