Ping: AlsoKim

Hey gang, it's me again, doing my (ell, it's not on a schedule so can't really call it annual or biannual or anything) "hey let's post to RCTQ to check in and also to see if we can find AlsoKim" thing.

Seems she's dropped off the group longer than I do since I can't find any new posts from her since I was last here (gotta love that search function). I don't suppose anyone has a good email address for her? I've tried emailing (no response) and calling (phone number no longer a working number).

Anyway, not much going on with me. Just same old same old. How's things with you?

Hugs, Tigg

Tigg, it's been a looooonnnnnnnnng time since AlsoKim has posted. I was going through my pictures the other day and found the pix I took when we went to the Vancouver quilt show. That was fun - I enjoyed meeting you and AlsoKim. The next time DH and I were in that area, we met AlsoKim at Fabric Depot. Sure wish we had a FabricDepot in the Boise area. My son is stationed in Washington, DC, now so we don't get over to the Portland area anymore.

I tried a couple of things this time and actually got an email from AlsoKim yesterday...well, two emails actually as she hit send early and then sent a second email finishing up. Seems she's been busy, but says she hasn't been quilting lately. Got two kids in college, one in high school and one in middle school so I'm guessing that keeps her pretty busy. At least we've gotten back in touch.

I'm glad I got to meet you when I lived in the area. I miss being in the PNW, especially in the summer. It's been hot here, not near as hot as places further south but I don't deal well with the heat and humidity so I'm sticking close to home where it's air conditioned. Not much in the way of quilt stores here. They have a fabric shop in the Amish town about 12 miles from here but I don't get there often. Our "local" WalMart (25 miles north) is not losing it's fabric department like so many others are, but they have made it smaller. Still, some of the quality isn't bad considering. Mom and I do a lot of fabric shopping there. I still browse the quilt shops online but my budget just doesn't allow for shopping in them. Hopefully, once my cousin's wedding is done with at the end of the month, I can save a little and maybe rebuild some of my batik stash.

Maybe I can start getting back to the group more often. I just don't seem to do much of anything lately. Must be getting lazy or something. ;)
