Portable Design Wall

Hi Linda I bought one last fall. The large size. The biggest draw back is that you have to have an equal to slightly larger size floor space to set it up on as you have to lay it out flat to insert the poles. Once you've got it together and stand it up it works fine but I found it is not that easy to move around once standing so you better not need to get behind it too often. I thought it was going to be the cat's meow but have found too many draw backs for my limited space. Once we move I may take over a VERY LARGE portion of the unfinished basement and I think there that it will be great.

Thanks! That was one of my main concerns about it. Wonder if the 3 x 3 size would be worth it?

Neither of them is worth it considering the price plus the shipping and handling.

Why not just get one of those folding cardboard pattern cutting boards like this:

I have one & I do like mine. I bought the largest size they make. The brother of Cheryl Ann travels to many of the shows, so you might send an email inquiry asking if they will be represented at any shows nearby you. I bought mine at my Guild's show, but about 5 of my friends bought theirs together at Pacific International Quilt Festival last October & he gave them a break, so that's another thing to think about. If you have a few friends that would be interested, you might get a break on the shipping & the unit.

It's a little awkward to set up the first time, but after the first attempt, I found it manageable.

I have one and I love it. I do, admittedly, have a fair amount of space in which to work setting it up. If you are agile enough, though, you don't really need a lot. As Pauline said, once you have set it up and broken it down once, it becomes easy.

I have one and also love it. I don't have a lot of wall space, so it's great to have it, then put it back away when I don't need it. I have friends that all bought one together, and got a great discount on it. Nancy

That's exactly what I use - I didn't even glue the flannel down - just clipped it along the top. It's not big enough to put a whole quilt on, but it surely is handy to have by the SM when putting blocks together. I also use it to "store" my Press'n'Seal tracings when I'm quilting and want them handy enough to grab when I need them. It stores easily when not in use, too. Use one of the 40% (or occasionally 50%) off coupons at JoAnns, well worth it.
