quilted tea cozies and wallets

nayy just ran across this site and thot these were the cutest cozies i've seen in a while. easily made i reckon without a pattern. the show how bottom pix of them too. says they use poly batting, one even has double batting in it. now theres a way to use up the poly batting you bought ages ago before you knew better, lol. heck, even old poly cotton would work for the cozy. one more xmas gift done in a few hours. and who takes their own tea and sweeteners with them? some herbal drinkers do i hear. the tea wallet there would be perfect for them as a wee stocking stuffer. again, looks pretty easy to make without a pattern, eh.

Great link, Jeanne! I have several friends that are devout tea-drinkers and the cozies'll make wonderful Christmas gifts!!! :)

O I love this. I will definitely ruin some fabric figuring out the exact pattern. And I take tea bags with me. Always. I drink a specific kind of t ea with a specific kind of sweetner every morning and if I can't start my day with that, I feel grumpy and out of sorts all day. Yes, I know that's definitely weird, but that's me.

Thanks for posting, Jeanne.

and for the record, what is a brown betty pot?

Sunny (sneaked out of bed to read NG and now dh is making me go back to bed...... grrrrr)

Good ideas! I do own one tea cosy and a couple of pots. But mostly make tea in a wide-mouth thermos. Keeps hot for a long time! Even though we usually finish it within a couple of hours. Roberta in D

I don't suppose you have pics, do you?? Like I said, I have several friends (mostly quilters - go figger!) that absolutely ADORE tea (I love it, too, but am horrible at keeping my tea pot clean - I keep it on the stove 'cause it's so pretty and was a gift and it gets greas-y and gross - and I'm too disorganized to clean it often enough).

What's kind of sad is that my late FIL was a big tea-drinker - he would have loved a homemade tea cozy (or two, or three, or ...) - and I just never thought of it. :(

Howdy!

Sure does melt the ice quickly, making for some rather weak tea. But...whatever you say, Jeann=e. ;-)

i dont have a pix of the brown betty pot but google in images and you'll see tons of them. just a basic brown ceramic teapot used for ages by the brits mostly i do believe. there is a pix on my webshots somewhere of the blue crazy cozy Jenn and I made. :) i cant recall which album tho. i keep my pot and cozy well away from the stove on the other side of the kitchen. tho the electric jug for boiling water is near the stove i take the pot to the jug when i'm making tea. then return the pot to its proper place while the tea brews under its cozy. :) no worrys then about it getting greasy. i guess you could also make smaller cozys just to fit over a cup if some folks dont have a pot to make tea in. tho cuz of the steam i'd think it might need to be protected from the moisture on the inside somehow. hmmm. groggy on first cuppa in the south pacific, jeanne

Jenn, So glad to know that your eye has healed up nicely and you can get back on the computer. We have missed you! Barbara in SC

Hehe, on the beers. Might of worked, at that!

The scratch happened because I was putting on mascara in the car (Jym was driving, so I at least got that part right). All is healed now, with no complications, though.

Of COURSE we use that teapot. For two reasons....one, because it's the smallest one, and two, because YOU gave it to us. We end up talking about all kinds of things, but your name and remembering your visit with us always comes up (it's good, I promise). It's one of our connections to you. Unfortunately, we didn't get around to having tea today. Aleesha has a research project due on Tuesday, so we were finishing it up this afternoon. Mondays are a lost cause for homework with our schedule, so we try to do everything ahead.
