As of the end of February 2007, RCTQ has a website listing photo links and blogs of frequent posters to RCTQ. There is also a list of RCTQ members who offer longarm services.
If you would like to be included, please let me know.
If you discover dead links, please let me know.
There is a link to the FAQs, and the FAQs link back to the website.
I'll be updating at least weekly (probably on Saturday mornings) and making the announcement at the first of the month (or thereabouts).
Aaaarrrggghhhh, that's uncool!! I suppose your messages ended up in the junk mail folder for some reason. I get my JoAnn's coupons at that email address, so you know I check it fairly frequently. The situation is remedied -- your Webshots albums are there now.
Love your Quilt Inspectors! Love the photo where they are by the lace curtain. I used to have a dark tiger-striped cat like yours. She was the first cat I ever had. Now I'll go back and look at the quilts. Kitties come first!
Thank you! I was just saving up all my questions, like what are squishies and what are QIs, and now they've all been answered!
How long has this group been around? Who are the long-time members and who are the long-time quilters? Did any of you learn from your mothers or other relatives?
I have some pictures at

- some finished things, some works in progress (WIP, right?), some fabric, and some of other people' work that I liked. Right now I have three finished and two unfinished and one that's just a scheme in my head.
I just started quilting in January by taking a course, after many years of watching someone close to me quilt and going to shows with her and thinking that I could never do it. And I love it. I have an exuberant colour sense, (which you can see if you look at the pictures), but I grew up thinking I should stay away from visual arts because I had no talent that way. Quilting seems to satisfy some artistic urge in a way that years of knitting never quite did. But it also opens up some creative possibilities that I'd never thought of before: maybe I could join the guild and send some works to their show, maybe drawing is actually something one can be taught, maybe I could get some paints, maybe I could try sewing clothing again, etc.
I've been here for years.... even before the logo that appears on the site was designed.Them were the days with Magic Mike, and Sairey (Sara) All self taught.
and if you are typing it in rather than clicking on the link, there is an underline dash between the rctq_quilters. When you see the whole link to click it is all underlined and you can't see the little underline dash. (on my screen anyway!)
I love your description: "an exuberant colour sense." It just makes me smile! And your quilts reflect that exuberance nicely.
I'm not sure how long the group's been around; I've been lurking and eventually posting since about 1994, but it had been around for a while before that.
I got the love of quilting from my grandmother, I guess. By the time I was ready to give it a try, though, she was no longer doing that kind of handwork, so I took a class back in about 1980. I got hooked, and have been quilting ever since. Based on what you've told us, I'd say you're hooked too! That's a good thing!
You're there! I did wonder about that blue tree -- haven't heard anybody talk about a Hanukah Bush in years. Both the blue one and the green one are pretty.
Don't you love the new Webshots Desktop? It will be soooo much easier to upload photos and make new albums.
I might be sorry I also installed the Webshots toolbar for Internet Explorer. I've now had Internet Explorer just close on me twice for no reason. I'll reboot and see if the same thing happens again. Then I might have to complain to the Webshots people and uninstall the Webshots Toolbar.
