Time sponge

I have just used/wasted/invested a whole morning watching videos on Boobtube. Am I the only one who gets hooked by new gizmos,how-tos and thing-a-ma-bobs for hours at a time? I know I don't play games on the computer, but these little gems seem to be just as addictive. I never knew there was so much out there, even though I have been pip-pointing stuff on there for ages.

This morning (NAYY) I added rulers that cut leaves, pencils that painted and appliqu=E9 that fused to my arsenal of quilting techniques. I have a book beside me to jot down all those, "Well I never thought of doing THAT" moments and "Next time someone asks me what I want for my birthday" space invaders.

BUT

in my defence, I have inspired myself, and had some me-time and added to my knowledge-base. And that can't be all bad, can it?

And I have decided I still love learning, and if Mohammed won't come to the mountain, then the mountain will have to shift. How did we ever manage without the interweb?

I'm with you. I don't think I ever saw it expressed but I love learning too. What are we going to do when our head blinks: 'Insufficient Memory' ? Polly

Oh, it's not hard to waste too much time on YouTube! I love watching the clever ways people have of doing things. The idea of 'tubular quilting' never occurred to me until I saw it online! Somewhere, I truly believe there is a tubular way of cutting strips for a Lone Star - I just can't seem to wrap my head around it yet! LOL!

I really enjoy Marguerita McManus from the Crazy Shortcut Quilting site. Her sense of humour matches mine and I love the way she talks as if you're in the room with her. I also like Jenny Doan from the Missouri Quilt Company (could do without the jingle, though - it drives you mad after a few hundred playings!).

You can never learn too much and isn't it just a blessing that we have the internet to help us? Just imagine how it'd be if we didn't!!!
