tulip or flower applique?

Sep 05, 2007 14 Replies

Hello, I want to do a tulip applique, or perhaps just a flower, using green, purple and a multi-coloured floral on cream. I'm stumped. I tried google, but only got pictures of quilts instead of actual applique designs for blocks. Does anyone have a good link for what I'm after?

Hi Jo, I wonder if a search of stained glass flower designs would turn up anything?

is not a very good example but might be worth searching for. Wendy in NSW

I just woke up, but I'll find you some flower designs in a few minutes. I've got loads of designs I've downloaded, so it's just a matter of finding them online again. Debra in VA See my quilts at

Some really nice flowers, and one is a tulip, at:

Jo, I have an applique pattern that looks like tulips. It was a free BOM last year, but no longer available on the net. If you would like, I could send you a PDF file. Email me off-board if you want one.

Google ... Images is your friend! just google images for tulip and you'll find pages and pages of pictures you can capture... save and then resize to whatever you need. Then just create your own applique pattern!

Email privately if you need help -- but it really is easy! I'm sure you can do it!

Oops -- google for tulip clipart (or you'll get oodles of photographs -- which are harder to work with!)

What did you decide to use for your applique? Debra in VA See my quilts at

Err ?? How did I manage to change the subject heading? I don't remember doing it. Puzzling Elly

It hasn't changed for me, Elly?! . In message , Elly writes

One of the good people from here (it's late, my brain is switched off) sent me a tulip applique pattern from Applewood by Beth Ferrier, and I am using that!
