D'oh. I never thought about using the air cycle in the dryer. The instructions on the batting said not to dry it in the machine, so I've been dutifully hanging this quilt out ever since. It would be probably be much softer if I tried that. I suppose one could dry it partly dry outdoors, then finish it on air-dry cycle.

What I do is air dry in the dryer for a while then hang to finish drying. I don't have a line outside (sure wish I did though) so I just hang it from my curtain rod with clothes hangers.....
I just finished quilting a 98 x 98 quilt using wool batting and it sure wasn't as heavy as cotton would have been!!! I love the stuff! ~~~~~~~ Laurie G. in CA
