Brads in fabric?

Can you apply decorative brads to fabric? Specifically a nylon bookbag? I know there are things made just for that, the Bedazzler thingy, but I don't really want to buy a tool to just use one time. Or if there's something like brads but for fabric that I don't need a tool for . . .

I don't know why you couldn't put brads on a bookbag. I think they would look cute. If you use them, you might want to put a piece of iron on patch over the back to help hold them on and so the prongs wouldn't catch on something and pull out. Or you could check out a fabric store and see if they have something comparable that doesn't need a special tool to use them.

You might also consider gluing things on. There are some good glues on there that allow you to put almost anything on fabric and that dry clear.

Coincedentally, I saw brads for fabric at Wal Mart today. They were alphabet brads, but made for fabric. They were right around these plain canvas tote bags. I wish I could remember the brand, but I can't. I didn't see a difference in them and scrapbooking brads, but I could have missed it.
