CCC May 2008 has begun

Thank you Jessica for our fun new challenge. Here's our participants todate! Everyone is doing a great job and will be so happy when December comes and they'll have handmade cards to send out. Everyone is entitled to

3 misses as we all know life tends to get in the way of crafting sometimes.

Cathy R.- January, February, March, April Crystal - January, February, March, April Jessica - January, February, March, April Kajikit - (1), February, March, (2) Kenda - (1), February, (2), April Linda C. - January, February, March, April Lynne - January, February, March, April M-C - (1), February, March, April Sandy - January, February, March, April Shannon - January, February, March, April Tammy - January, February, (1), April

Here are some tips to revisit and a new tip. I see already I'm slacking on signing the back of my cards. I better pull out Aprils and get them done.

January - Find a consistent spot to put cards so you can find them in December February - Don't forget to sign and date the back of your cards. March - Envelopes! Make sure you have envelopes for all your cards. April - Get a head start addressing! Address envelopes with at least your return address. May - Buy some forever stamps before May 12, 2008, so you can pay a penny less per card for mailing a Christmas card come December (current postage 41 cents... will go to 42 cents).

Hugs, Lynne

Well, after I made my altered tin I went to put my cards in and checked the backs for signing. I was amazed at probably half I had missed. Whoops! Better now than in December. I went back and got them all stamped and signed. Whew!

I'm already brainstorming ideas for the May cards. A couple of months ago my husband went out and bought about 15 sheets of the forever stamps. I think we have enough to last for quite a while.

I missed the post about Jessica's challenge for May. Would someone repost it please?

Wow, it's May already? How'd that happen so fast?

Everyone is doing an amazing job with their card so far! Just think how amazing we'll feel in December when we realize we've done all the hard work.

For this month's "extra" challenge, should you choose to accept:

April showers bring.........May flowers!

Christmas may be getting farther and farther from our minds as Spring flowers bloom and Summer approaches. So, I thought I'd help us think of both a little differently. Your challenge is to incorporate greenery or florals into your card somehow. There are the traditional Xmas greens like Poinsettia's, pine boughs and holly, or you can try some of your cool new spring flower stamps or ephemera pics and see how you can make them part of an Xmas card...it can be in the background, or a main image.

Other ideas that I think would work well for Xmas cards - Ferns, White lilies, red roses, snow bells, rosemary.

Have FUN!!!

Jessica
