Christmas Cards Challenge 2008 has begun

I think the challenge will be changed slightly to accomodate our needs. Figure out how many cards you'll need for December plus a few extra for those surprise occasions or new friends you'll meet this year. Then divide the total number by 11. I want to make 60 cards I divided it by 11 and rounded up as I didn't want to come up short and I'll make a minimum of 6 cards a month. By December I'll have at least 66 cards to send out.

If you'd like you can add different kinds of cards to the mix. Are you going to need some birthday cards? Do you like to send out Halloween cards? Will you need some Thanksgiving invitations?

All you have to do is complete your challenge number of cards every month up to and including November and you should have plenty of cards to send out for the holidays!!

To make the challenge interesting I'm going to put together a Stamping/Scrapping gift basket. For anyone who posts that their cards as done each month, uploads a picture each month of the challenge and makes 3 or more cards I'll put you in a drawing for the gift basket. I have all year to make it really wonderful. The drawing will be done on December 1st as November's challenge cards should be posted by November 30th. You don't have to join the challenge now, but only people who post their challenge as done each month will qualify for the drawing.

Starting January 1st... three or more challenge cards need to be done, posted as done and picture upload for viewing by January 31st midnight Pacific Standard Time. Each month will have the same deadline. Begin on the first day and end on the last day of the month. That doesn't mean you can't be extra crafty one month and do 2 months at once. Just make sure you post that challenge as done in the month you want them to qualify for.

The idea is NOT to stress. If you need to skip a month or two, that is perfectly fine. Remember, the whole idea behind this challenge is to make life easier and that should be prize enough if you make this choice.

Make your cards any way you like - make 100 of the same card 10 at a time or make a different set of 10 each month or make each card completely different and unique. You decide, these are your cards. They should be how you want them to be. Then each month when you complete your cards, upload your photos and post a message.

This is not a swap... just a way to get your cards done BEFORE December.

Looking forward to us all getting our cards done early this year.

Ready, Set, Go,

Lynne

I'm in.......and as I still have a lot of my Christmas stuff out I can get started right now. I think I will try to go ahead and do 10 each month. That way I'll have some to give (hopefully all of the soldiers will be home and they will be unnecessary).

I am in! I am going to do 5 Christmas cards and 3 Birthday cards each month. I will probably combine some months together because of my travel schedule.

Thanks Lynne for the challenge!!!!!

I'm going to TRY to do this... I never get my cards made in advance, and this christmas I didn't make any at all! (for that matter I didn't even get as far as sending the bought ones!) If I make ten christmas cards a month that should be more than enough...

I've already got five done. I won't set a monthly mininum because I know it won't matter. I'll just do whatever, however, whenever.

I will try and meet or exceed the amount I did this year, god willing.

I will add Valentines, St Pats, "We've Moved", Thanksgiving, and Birthday cards into the fray.

Great challenge Lynne, I'm in. I'm going to try to do 10 Christmas cards and

10 other type of cards (birthday, anniversary, etc.) That way I'll have all the cards I need for the year.

The gift basket is an awesome idea. Now I need to get busy.

What a great idea Lynne! I've added up what I would need for the year in anniversary, birthday, and Christmas. It means I need 16 cards a month, 9 bday, 7 Christmas. I'm also working up a birthday reminder calender/sheet to print off so I know what bdays, etc are coming up. It would be great to have my Christmas cards done by the end of November!
