Muddy boot prints!

Ok, I went to visit my nephew and his grandparents on their farm, and I haven't finished my pages yet but I have a two page layout I just can't wait to share, because I made up a technique (at least I haven't seen it before) and I'm so happy with how it turned out!

Here's the page:

book/dirt.jpg Ok, to make the muddy boot prints, I found a boot print graphic online, used my graphics program to resize, color, and duplicate it so I'd have several, printed them on adhesive velum, cut them out and stuck them down, and while the ink was still a bit wet I smudged all over them with a wet napkin. Ta-da!

Hmm, seems the link wrapped and broke. I can't seem to get it to stop doing that. Can you copy and paste it instead of clicking?

That is so cute...I love it! I have some similar pictures of Abby from the pumpkin patch, so I may give your technique a try! Thanks for sharing!

Cool! I may have to rename the image when I finish all the pages and upload them, to make sure they display in the correct order. So, you may want to bookmark the link to the whole album instead:

Thanks and you're welcome! Now, if you have a better printer than I do, your ink may dry faster and not be as smudgable, so just experiment a bit and see what happens first. Do you have Photoshop or some other graphics software? Because I searched for "shoe print stencil" in google images, to make sure I got a graphic image instead of a photograph of a boot print in the dirt, but then I had to resize and color it in Photoshop. Oh, the one I found was also kind of wonky so I used the "distort" tool as well to get it to look how I wanted.

Here's the image I used:
