CCC (Christmas Card Challenge) Jan. 2008

How is it going for everyone? Mine are halfway there. I need to buy more red paper. Yeah I have a room full of supplies and it seems I always have to buy supplies to finish a project. :D

I'm going to post a thread each month for participates to post too. Doesn't mean you can't do your own post, but if you could also do one here it would help. If everyone doing this challenge could post to this thread so I can keep track of you it would be great.

To the gift basket drawing I was thinking of altering my requirement and that was allowing anyone who can make cards for at least 8 of the 11 months would qualify. I started to realize that even for me 11 months might not be possible. My big problem this month is my computer won't let my camera sync to the computer. Made me realize that others might have something going on through out the year as well. So, I figured if I did at least 8 months I still be in good shape, but of course 11 months would be great.

When I first decided to do Christmas cards each month my first thought was "I just made Christmas cards I'm not in the mood." As I started working on my cards though I was really having fun, because the pressure was off. I could take the time to do the little extras I'd like to do knowing they didn't have to go into the mail YESTERDAY!

Looking forward to seeing everyone's cards, Lynne

I might have to do this challenge. DS will be in Iraq @ Christmas and any extra cards can go to his platoon for them to send home. Think I'll jump on board!! I finally got my area sorted and as cleaned out as it can get at this point in time. I now have room to do a little so cards it is! Thanks for posting this Lynne....even if it's too late to sign up for the challenge (think I missed that post!) I am so excited to do something creative! IT's been a loong time.

I finished my 10 cards tonight. They are in my webshots account in "Lynne's Card Challenge Album". I did a couple of different designs and scraplifted the ideas from SplitCoast Stampers. I used purple as my different color for Christmas cards and then did a few black ones again. I'm really liking black lately for some reason. I also tried Spirelli as a new technique.

Those cards are awesome! I love the black cards with the Spirelli! It reminds me of playing with my brothers' spirohraph when they were kids!

Not too late to join Kenda. Any one can join anytime during the year. If you want to get into the drawing for the gift basket I'm creating though you'll have to do at least 8 months of at least 3 cards a month.

Sandy I loved that spirelli technique you used on your cards! Where did you hear of it or did you see it demonstrated? I looks very interesting to try!

I had a blast creating them. I tried and tried last weekend to make Christmas cards but never got very far. For some reason right before I went to sleep last night I remembered I had my big sizzix Christmas tree die that I have never used. I made all of my cards for this month with the die. All of my cards were also made with scrap paper except the card base. This challenge is helping me use up my scrap stash! Love that!

I made two of the same card so I did finish all 5 Christmas cards and

3 other cards for this month! Yae! I may start on next month's just to stay ahead.

Wow, Sandy. Great cards. I had not seen the Spirelli technique. I might have to copy it also. I have always loved the stamp set you used for the purple cards. I like the two tone.

TFS!

Thanks M-C. That's what I was thinking too - only with string instead. Sandy

Thanks Tammy. I really like that set too. I used it for several cards this past Christmas. Sandy

I had a card making bonanza on Sunday - 10 hours with a new friend, going nuts, drinking bloody marys and watching the "Bring it on" Marathon!

I got all 10 Xmas cards made - and some thank you cards too. Woo hoo! I'll post them soon.

Wonderful cards Sandy. The black ones are stunning.I like the Spirelli. I took a peek at Jesse's cards too. Wonderful job on them. I really like the ones with the flowers in the jars. Cute stamps.

I've made about 10 cards so far this month, but I don't have pictures of all of them. I had to send them out before I took photos. Anyway there are the two latest cards in the 2008 Card Challenge folder. I also have a new page in the 2008 Pages folder.

I'm going to start my Christmas cards this evening. Hopefully I'll have some to post tomorrow.

Love the swing LO with the buttons and sewing. I have some of the scalloped paper I have not yet used. I've bookedmarked your LO to scraplift. Hope you don't mind. Sandy

I don't mind at all. It was a sketch I found on another group.
