Our children always come home to us for Christmas, though they do live about an hour's drive away so we don't have overnights. Unless of course some of the grandchildren want to stay. My family (brothers & sisters and their children & grandchildren) get together every year for a dinner and visit. This year we rented the banquet room at the Golden Corral in Evansville. They used to all come to my house for dinner, but when the grandchildren started showing up it got too crowded. We're expecting 64 this year. Sandy

We usually spend Christmas with my in-laws, wherever they may be.

When son gets out for Christmas break we are going to Lovelady texas, near Houston. While there might run to League City to see sis's Dad for a day too!. then back for Christmas. We will go to MIL's for Christmas dinner maybe. Depends on Dave's plans too. We either eat here or take Dave over there. Then after we my brother, me and kids will go to San Angelo for a few days to see my Dad. then back home for son to go back to school Jan 3rdish. If my dad or sis wanna give him a toy or money, they have already been warned of his antics.

It is. I have one brother and a sister who live out of state (Indiana) and they come in for the weekend. We get to see all of the nieces and nephews, and their children. Last year we rented a two story cabin in the park - the reservations had to be in a year in advance - and Christmas was a month after Mom died. It turned out to be a bad time for almost everyone. So this year we decided to downplay and just do a restaurant, but we have the banquet room reserved for

3 hours. I always bring a Christmas Scrapbook ready for pictures for the dirty bingo. Everyone fights over it. That reminds me, I've got to get it done before the 23rd. Another down to the wire project.......... Sandy

We are travelling to Reno to spend a couple of days with hubby's brother and sister-in-law and then to Quincy, CA (1 1/2 hours west of Reno) to spend a few days with my family.

We're staying here...for once. LOL Usually, we have Christmas day at our house, then take off either the day after or weekend after and head to MILs. We've had Christmas with my parents 3 times over the past 8 years, just due to the long drive, DH gettnig a decent amoutn of time off to make it a good trip, etc. Last time we went out there for Christmas, DD came down with strep throat just a few days before we left and I wound up having to take her to the ER out there due to the fever. This year, we've declared we're having Christmas and New Years at our house, our first house. We haven't invited anyone. It's just going to be the 4 of us. I'm looking forward to it, too. DH loves to cook, so I know I won't be in the kitchen all day by myself. We'll spend the first weekend of the New Year at MIL's, though, so I bet we'll wind up having 2 Christmases. LOL

My hubby and I will be traveling to my parents and his Mom's house (about 3 hrs from our house). We do Christmas eve at DH Mom's house and Christmas Day at my parents. It sounds like I will get to see most of my extended family which I am very excited about!

Everyone (16 and over) who comes to the party brings a gift costing approximately $15. We play bingo or cards for the gifts. If we use cards each person gets half a card and when their card is called they either get to pick an unopened gift from the table or take one someone else has already opened. It can get rough, when several people want the same gift, but it is all done in fun. A couple of years ago several of the nephews and inlaws were fighting over a set of Harley knives, and my scrapbook always goes over well. Someone usually volunteers to put together treat bags for the younger ones and everyone sends money or something to be added to the bags. There is just too many of us to exchange gifts. This was one way we came up with to assure everyone went home with a something. Sandy

My parents are deceased, and DH's parents are in Australia right now, so we won't be dealing with ILs this season...I will take Maya out to east Texas to my friend's farm and have a few days of vacation with them (DH won't go, has to work) and we'll do our Christmas a few days early.

We'll try to visit my brothers and sister in the Ft. Worth area at some point too, might be after Christmas depending on everyone's schedule.

Other than that, not much. DH wanted to take time off and travel somewhere, but as usual waited until the last minute when you can't really afford flight $$$$$ and location fees. D'oh. ;-)
