Font help please

Scrap n fonts has some neat fonts. What program do you use to color in the fonts? Their site suggests Paint Shop but I have a different verision I don't have a font option in my Paint Shop. Any help would be great. I would like to know before I buy a ton of fonts.

All version of Paint Shop handle fonts. It is the tool in the tool box that looks like a big letter usually a T. You use it click in your document, type what you want, then go and change the font and color. Another good program is Adobe Photoshop Elements or the full version of Photoshop or Corel Photo-Paint or Corel Painter, just about any image editing or vector drawing package (like Adobe illustrator or Xara) will also handle fonts.

What version of Paint Shop Pro do you have (I assume that's what you mean by "Paint Shop")? All versions of PSP have some form of the Text tool, which allows you to use different fonts with colors, patterns, gradients, etcetera.

You could also use Microsoft Word (or any word processor) and when you have completed typing what you want hit your Print Screen key (PrtSc) which will copy the contents of your screen to your clipboard. You can then paste the captured screen into your favorite imaging software then crop the typed text and place it anywhere on your new image.

Paint Shop Pro is a nice affordable program that offers most of the power of Adobe Photoshop, some things Adobe Photoshop doesn't have or do well and then it is lacking some things as well. But, for most users it is a great program for a great price.

If it's a free trial on a new computer, it's probably PSP X (possibly PSP 9 but I doubt it.)

You can set the color/pattern/texture you want applied to the text in the Materials Palette - set foreground and background colors. Then activate the text tool, and click on your image to open a text entry box. Type the text you want and click OK and it will appear on your image.

For more specific help, click F10 to open the Learning Center. Look for the section "Text and Graphics" and the sub-heading "Add Text" - this should get you started. For 14,000+ free tutorials for different versions of PSP, go to
