Hi Deb,

It's been raining here for 2 straight weeks. I've never seen so much rain. I live near 3 rivers and they are all near to capacity. As long as the rain is steady there will likely be no flooding in my house, but if there are any gully washers I'll have to sand bag. The ground is just soaked and no where else for the water to go.

Hope your rain subsides soon Lynne.....and I hear what you are saying about water-logged ground. We often experience this in Scotland but fortunately I live at the top of a hill......so flooding isn't an issue. The weather everywhere seems to be upside down right now.....IMO global warming is the main culprit! We have just got rid of a fall of snow and the weather is almost spring-like now and the daffodil bulbs have sprouted far too early. They are about six inches out of the ground! It should be cold (minus temps) in January/February and the only things showing should be the Snowdrops :o)

Take care, Marilyn

We are fine. A little tired of the rain though as we spent 8 days in Northern CA/Northern Nevada and then came home to 2 more days of rain here! No flooding here, but some areas did have some flooding. If you watched the Rose Parade on Monday, you saw most of the rain we got.

Oh and lots of trees and fences are starting to come down due to the wet ground.

We actually had sun today. I asked my daughter what she thought of the sun at recess and she said she while looking at the sun, "Go away I'm not aloud to talk to strangers." I said, "You're weird" to my daughter and she laughed. I guess she hasn't seen the sun in 2 weeks and now it's a stranger. Funny how these kids minds work. She's always looking for a way to make a joke.

It's good to hear you're doing ok over there. You know, you could send the rain this way. AR is really dry right now, and we all know TX & OK could use the rain on the way to here. :-)

Glad to hear you're surviving the rain! We didn't watch the Rose Parade Monday. DH had the day off, but the kids went back to school. It was a sleep-in day after we got the kids to school. I think we probably slept through most of the parade. LOL

I tried to sleep in too, but hubby had the tv on in the bedroom at 8:00 am. One of the local stations showed the parade over and over all day, so you could watch it at any time during the day.

We had 2 almost complete days with no rain. I thought we had a 2nd one yesterday and when I let the dogs out for their last out it was raining. I couldn't believe it. Where the heck is all this rain coming from and why doesn't it shift over a dry part of the United States. At this point it is not beneficial. Just running off the land and straight back to the sea.
