Hurray! Got my POWER Back!! ~:o)

Hi Everybody, It has been a long almost 24 hrs. here in NY with no Electricity! Finally, we just got it back and I couldn't be happier, especially with a 15 month old and 2 elderly parents ( both of them have Parkinson's). I am so Thankful that the power is back. I just wanted to share with you all my relief and happiness.

God Bless, Dorothy

I'm glad to hear that you're back up and running not to mention finally getting cooled off.

I couldn't believe the news when I heard it after work yesterday. Sadly, automatically the first thing that comes to mind is terrorists. Thank God it wasn't, this time.

That is good news. You realized how much you depend on electricity when you don't have it.

Glad you are back! Tammy

Thank you Everyone so MUCH for your Good/Blessed wishes. AMAZINGLY, Everything in my freezer, my Mom's freezer and the big one in the basement remained frozen. We did not open them the entire time. I opened my fridge 1x to get out 1/2 Gallon of milk for the baby and believe it or not everything stayed cold in their as well. I couldn't believe it. Once the power went back on I checked everything and it was fine. Thank GOD!! I don't know what I would have to do if all my food went bad. I would probably have to claim it under my home owners insurance?!?

God Bless to all and Thanks again for all your well wishes! Dorothy in NY

Looks like I'm a little bit behind you...ours went out at 4:12pm on Thursday and came back on this morning at 3:45am - so about 35 hours without power. UGH.

The freezer, if completely full and everything totally frozen and not opened at all, should keep everything for up to 48 hours. Our chest freezer was perfectly fine - everything solid as a rock. We did lose everything in regular freezer and fridge - just too hot. Just got back from grocery shopping and are working to conserve energy. First air conditioner I hear go on in my neighborhood before Monday is getting a knock on the door - I can't handle any more no power time!!!
